President Marcos SCPF Educational Assistance Gives ₱20,000 to Deserving Final-Year College Students

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. continues to support deserving Filipino students through the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) by providing educational assistance to underprivileged college students who are struggling financially.

Under the program dubbed “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang (BBM),” qualified students receive financial assistance to help them complete their college education despite economic challenges.

What is the SCPF Educational Assistance Program?

The Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) is a financial assistance program administered by the Office of the President. It aims to provide support to local communities through various initiatives, including educational scholarships, public service projects, and disaster relief.

One of its goals is to help financially challenged students finish their college education by providing educational assistance.

How Much is the Educational Assistance?

Under the SCPF educational assistance program, qualified college students may receive P20,000 in financial assistance.

The cash assistance can be used for:

  • School fees
  • Graduation expenses
  • Daily allowance
  • School projects
  • Other education-related expenses

Student Receives P20,000 Educational Assistance

One of the beneficiaries is Chrizzel Mae Golez, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) student at North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) – Cantilan Campus.

She is a resident of Barangay San Pablo, Sison, Surigao del Norte, and is the eldest among four siblings.

According to Golez, the educational assistance came at the right time as her family is facing financial difficulties. Her mother is undergoing regular dialysis treatment while her father works as a security guard to support the family’s daily needs.

She expressed her gratitude to President Marcos and the government for the financial assistance, saying that it will help cover her school expenses and allow her to focus on finishing her degree.

Barangay Receives SCPF Assistance

According to Barangay San Pablo Punong Barangay Danilo Maylon, their barangay received a total of P200,000 under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund.

Out of the total allocation:

  • P100,000 was distributed to five deserving fourth-year college students.
  • Each student received P20,000 educational assistance.
  • The remaining P100,000 will be used to purchase tables and chairs for barangay activities and meetings.

What is the Purpose of the SCPF?

The Socio-Civic Projects Fund serves as a bridge between the national government and local communities by supporting projects such as:
