The Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars (BPBP) Program 2026 is one of the newest educational assistance initiatives launched by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to support financially struggling Filipino students in completing their college education.

The scholarship program is part of the Philippine government’s “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign, which aims to expand access to education and provide direct assistance to communities through barangay-based programs.

Through this initiative, qualified students from every barangay may receive scholarship grants to help cover their academic expenses and continue their studies without financial burden.

Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars Program

The Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars Program is a program aimed to provide educational assistance to deserving college students from low-income households. Under the program, every barangay nationwide may select up to five scholars who will receive government-funded educational support.

The scholarship program aims to empower students, reduce school dropouts caused by financial difficulties, and encourage academic perseverance among Filipino youth.

Scholarship Benefits

Scholars qualified for Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Presidential Scholars program will receive the following benefits:

₱20,000 One-Time Educational Assistance

Students can use this to cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition and miscellaneous fees
  • School supplies and learning materials allowance
  • Transportation and daily allowance assistance
  • Additional support for other academic-related expenses

This scholarship grant helps students continue their studies and complete their college degrees successfully.

Who Can Apply?

Following is the list of qualifications required to apply for this program:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • Be a resident of the barangay where the application is filed
  • Must belong to a low-income or financially challenged household
  • Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in college
  • Must demonstrate good academic standing and moral character
  • Priority may be given to incoming 4th-year college students
  • Students at risk of stopping their studies due to financial hardship are encouraged to apply
  • In some barangays, incoming 3rd-year students and TESDA scholars may also qualify depending on available slots and local guidelines.
