DOST Scholarship 2027 Online Application | Apply Now
The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is now accepting applications for its 2027 S&T Undergraduate Scholarship, giving academically capable Filipino students an opportunity to pursue priority science and technology programs with substantial financial support.
The online application period will run from August 17 to September 17, 2026, while the qualifying examination is scheduled for November 14-15, 2026.
What is the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship?
The DOST-SEI S&T Undergraduate Scholarship aims to encourage talented Filipino youth to pursue careers in science and technology and help develop the country’s future S&T workforce.
Two scholarship categories are available:
- Merit Scholarship – for students with high aptitude in science and mathematics who intend to pursue S&T careers.
- RA 7687 Scholarship – for talented and deserving students whose socioeconomic circumstances meet the program’s requirements.
Qualified scholars must enroll in DOST-SEI-approved priority programs and study at eligible higher education institutions.
Who can apply?
The scholarship is open to qualified Grade 12 students graduating in SY 2026-2027 and eligible Grade 12 graduates who have not yet entered college.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a natural-born Filipino citizen
- Be of good moral character and in good health
- For STEM students: belong to the STEM class
- For non-STEM students: belong to the top 5% of the graduating class
- Have no post-secondary/college or vocational units
- Applicants who previously applied but did not qualify may apply again
- Applicants who previously qualified but did not accept the award may also apply

How much is the DOST scholarship allowance?
DOST-SEI scholars can receive the following benefits during a regular academic year:

Additional support may also be provided during summer or mid-year terms when required by the curriculum.
The transportation benefit covers one actual economy-class round trip per academic year for eligible scholars studying outside their home province or region.

Eligible scholars may enroll at:
- University of the Philippines
- State Universities and Colleges
- Private institutions recognized by CHED as Centers of Excellence or Centers of Development, or institutions with FAAP Level III accreditation for the applicable priority S&T programs.

Important dates for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2027 are:
- August 17, 2026 – Online application opens
- September 17, 2026 – Application deadline
- October 2026 – Expected availability of test permits
- November 14-15, 2026 – Qualifying examination
- March 2027 – Tentative announcement of scholarship qualifiers

Documents applicants should prepare
Applicants will need to complete and upload the required forms and supporting documents, which may include:
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- Certificate of Good Health
- Principal’s Certification
- Appropriate Grade 12 certification/form
- Certificate of Residency
- Parent’s Certification
- DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination/Award form
- Certification of No Post-Secondary Units
- Signed declaration of applicant and parent/legal guardian
- Recent passport-size photograph

- Proof of income, when applicable
- Notarized Affidavit of Guardianship, when applicable
- Marriage Certificate, if applicable
Applicants should use the latest forms provided by DOST-SEI. Incorrect, incomplete or unreadable documents may result in disqualification.
How to apply for the DOST Scholarship?
Step 1: Register
Create an account through the official DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship E-Application System using a valid personal email address and mobile number.
Applicants should use an email they will continue to have access to. School and government email addresses are not accepted.
After registration, applicants will receive an activation email and a Science Scholarships ID (SSID).
Step 2: Complete the application
Fill out the required modules, including:
- Student Information
- Household Information
- Personal Data
- Family Data
- Contact Information
- School Data
Upload clear copies of the required documents. Accepted formats include PDF, JPG, JPEG and PNG, with a maximum upload size of 5 MB per file unless otherwise specified.
Step 3: Select a test center
Applicants will choose their preferred examination center.
This selection should be made carefully because the test-center preference cannot be changed after submission. The list of centers may still change, and applicants may be reassigned if their chosen center becomes unavailable.
Step 4: Review and submit
Before clicking Submit, carefully check every detail and uploaded document.
Once the application is submitted, no further changes can be made, and the application will be evaluated based on the information and documents submitted.
What happens after applying?
Eligible applicants will receive a Test Permit, expected to become available through the application system in October 2026.
The qualifying examination will then be held on November 14-15, 2026.
Those who meet the required examination cut-off may be considered potential qualifiers. DOST-SEI will subsequently issue a Notice of Award and provide information about the scholarship orientation and agreement signing.
The official list of qualifiers is tentatively expected in March 2027 through DOST-SEI’s official channels.

The application is free. DOST-SEI warns applicants to avoid websites or individuals asking for payment or personal information outside the official application system.
