The OWWA Scholarship 2024-2025 program is now open to apply for all eligible Grade 12 college students in the Philippines. Recently, OWWA – the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration has made an announcement on Facebook asking the students to prepare the list of required documents to apply for OWWA EDSP and ODSP scholarship.

OWWA Scholarship 2024

The Overseas Workers Filipino Administration – OWWA has asked all the eligible and interested college students to prepare the list of requirements for the upcoming OWWA Scholarship programs.

Here is the list of OWWA scholarships programs which are going to open:

• Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
• OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)

The announcement included the opening date of Online application for the scholarship programs, eligibility, list of scholarship benefits and requirements.

OWWA EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program

The Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) provides financial assistance to qualified dependents of active OWWA members who intend to pursue a 4 to 5-year baccalaureate course in any preferred colleges or universities in the Philippines.

Scholarship Benefits

An OWWA Scholar who is selected for the EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program, will receive a financial assistance of Php60,000.00 per school year until the completion of their four to five year baccalaureate course.

Number of Slots Available

A total of 1600 Slots are now available for the EDSP Scholarship program.

Qualifications to apply for scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications a candidate must meet to apply for EDSP scholarship:

Incoming 1st Year College Students

1. Applicant must be Single and not more than 21 years old
2. Must be an Grade 12 graduating student with a GWA of 80% or its equivalent
3. Must study in a Philippine-based college / university

2nd to 5th Year College Students

1. Applicant must be Single and not more than 30 years old
2. Must have a GWA not lower than 85% or its equivalent with no failing grades
3. Must study in a Philippine-based college/university.

OWWA ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program

The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) provides financial assistance to qualified dependents of active OWWA members who intend to pursue their education in any preferred colleges or universities in the Philippines.

Scholarship Benefits

An OWWA Scholar who is selected for the ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarships Program, will receive a financial assistance of Php20,000.00 per school year until the completion of their four to five year baccalaureate course.

Number of Slots Available

A total of 2500 Slots are now available for the ODSP Scholarship program.

Qualifications to apply for scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications a candidate must meet to apply for ODSP scholarship:

Incoming 1st Year College Students

1. Applicant must be Single and not more than 21 years old
2. Must be an Grade 12 graduating student
3. Must enroll or be enrolled in a Philippine-based college / university
4. The OFW must have an income of USD $600.00 or less per month

2nd to 5th Year College Students

1. Applicant must be Single and not more than 30 years old
2. Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university
3. The OFW must have an income of USD $600.00 or less per month

List of Required Documents

The list of documents required to apply for the scholarship is as follows:

• A Proof of Identity
• A Proof of Grades from the Previous School
• Photocopy of Birth certificate
• 2 X 2 ID Picture with Name Tags (2 pcs)
• Photocopy of Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
• A Original Copy of Affidavit of No Child / Sibling Dependent
• Photocopy of Proof of Enrollment

OWWA Scholarship Application Period

The online application for OWWA ODSP and EDSP Scholarship programs are going to open on July 26, 2024.

The deadline date to apply for the OWWA Scholarship program is August 16, 2024.
