The BARMM Scholarship 2024 – BASE and BASE-MERIT Scholarship programs are open to apply for all eligible and interested Filipino college students. The Ministry of Science and Technology has recently announced the launch of BARMM Scholarship for the CY 2024 via a Facebook post on January 15, 2024.

BARMM Scholarship 2024

BARMM means Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has started calling in applications for its 2024 Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education – BASE and BASE-Merit Scholarship programs.

Scholarship Programs

The BARMM Scholarship program is administered by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The goal of BARMM Scholarship is to encourage deserving students to pursue higher education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The two programs covered under BARMM Scholarship are as follows

  • BASE Scholarship program
  • BASE – Merit Scholarship program

BARMM Scholarship BASE Program

BASE Scholarship means Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education scholarship program. The BASE Scholarship is awarded to well-deserving students of Senior High School graduate class to enable them pursue higher education or training in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Scholarship Benefits

BARMM Scholars who qualify for BASE program will receive a total of PHP 80,000.00 per annum as scholarship benefits.

The scholarship money will be deposited in 10 installments of PHP 8,000.00 per month into the awardee’s bank account in the last week of every month from the starting month of 1st semester, class of school year.

The scholarship amount will cover the following:

  • Tuition and other school fees
  • Book Allowance
  • Monthly Living Allowance
  • Clothing Allowance
  • Transportation Expenses

Who can apply for Scholarship

Following is the list of eligibility criteria required to apply for BARMM BASE Scholarship program:

  • The applicant must be a Natural-born Filipino citizen and a resident of BARMM at least six (6) months prior the application of months and;
  • He or She must be a member of the STEM strand Senior High School graduating class with 85% GWA during the Grade 12 of 1st semester;
  • For Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class: 90% GWA during the Grade 12 of 1st semester;
  • Shall not a recipient of other scholarship programs;
  • The applicant must be of good moral character and in good health;
  • Do not have any post-secondary or undergraduate units;
  • Shall have passed the BASE qualifying examination; and
  • Must be enrolled in the BASE program Priority Courses.

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for BARMM BASE Scholarship program:

  1. Certificate of Good Moral Character (Form B1)
  2. Certificate of Good Health (Medical Doctor’s Certification)
  3. Principal’s Certification
    • Applicant belongs to the graduating Grade 12 senior high school-STEM strand senior high school graduating class with 85% GWA during the Grade 12 (1st semester)
    • Applicant belongs to the NON-STEM strand class strand senior high school graduating class; 90% GWA during the Grade 12 (1st semester)
  4. Certificate of Residency; and
  5. Certification from Registrar’s Office not a recipient of any scholarship

BARMM Scholarship BASE-MERIT Program

BASE-MERIT Scholarship means Bangsamoro Assistance for Science Education Merit scholarship program. The BASE-MERIT Scholarship is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue highly technical courses in the fields of science and technology, engineering and mathematics.

Scholarship Benefits

BARMM Scholars who qualify for BASE-MERIT program will receive a total of PHP 200,000.00 per annum as scholarship benefits.

The scholarship money will be deposited in 10 installments of PHP 20,000.00 per month into the awardee’s bank account in the last week of every month from the starting month of 1st semester, class of school year.

The scholarship amount will cover the following:

  • Book Allowance

  • The BARMM Scholarship 2024 is ongoing and is open to apply now.
  • The deadline date to apply for BARMM Scholarship is March 15, 2024.
