Gold Eagle College Scholarship

The Gold Eagle College Scholarship program is an initiative by the Insular Foundation to support intelligent and deserving students who are in need of financial assistance to have access to the best education they need to improve their lives, their home and the country.

Insular Foundation is the corporate giving subsidiary of Insular Life – a mutual life insurance company in the Philippines. The foundation has initiated various welfare programs for Filipinos and still continues to do so. With the help of these programs, thousands of children receive financial support and scholarship grants to pursue their education.

Benefits of Gold Eagle College Scholarship

Following is the list of benefits a Gold Eagle Scholar will receive under this program:

  • Financial Assistance every semester which cover the following:
    • Stipend,
    • Transportation Allowance and
    • Book Allowance
  • Cash Incentives for scholars graduating with honors
  • Access to the Insular Foundation’s network, leadership trainings, and other capacity-building programs

Who can apply for Gold Eagle College Scholarship

All interested 1st year college students who are pursuing education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at any of the Insular Foundation’s 6 partner schools can apply for Gold Eagle College Scholarship program.

Number of Slots Available for Scholarship

A total of 26 slots are available for Gold Eagle College Scholarship program.

  • Three (3) slots per school for students enrolled in any Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics courses in the following 5 universities:
    • Aurora State College of Technology
    • Benguet State University
    • Bohol Island State University
    • Central Mindanao University
    • Davao Oriental State University
  • Eleven (11) slots for students enrolled in the University of the Philippines – Diliman:
    • Two (2) for BS Mathematics,
    • Four (4) for BS Statistics,
    • Five (5) from any Science, Technology, and Engineering courses

Qualifications for Scholarship

To apply for Gold Eagle College Scholarship Grant, a student must have the following qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a bona fide student at Insular Foundation’s partner schools, enrolled in any of the STEM courses identified for each school;
  • He or She must be an incoming 1st year college student, and must have passed the partner school’s admission test;
  • Must have a general weight average (GWA) of 85% in Grade 11 and Grade 12 up to the first term or second grading period;
  • Must be enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant;
  • The Student be financially needy (parents’ annual gross income must not exceed P500,000.00 for UP Diliman and must not exceed P250,000.00 for provincial SUCs);
  • Must not have been liable for any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension in Senior High School; and
  • Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship grant for the duration of the Insular Foundation scholarship grant.

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for this scholarship program

  1. A Duly Accomplished Application Form (online application link given below)
  2. 2×2 photo in white background
  3. Certified True Copy of Grade 11 and Grade 12 Report Card with General Weighted Average (For the Grade 12 Report Card, available grades should be up to the first term or second grading period at the minimum.)
  4. Certificate of Good Moral Character
  5. Certified True Copy of BIR Latest Income Tax Return (ITR). If not available, submit a Notarized Affidavit of Source of Income
  6. Certified True Copy of Certificate of Registration/Admission in the university/college

NOTE: Both parents, legal guardian (if applicable), and siblings (if working) should have an ITR or notarized affidavit of source of income. For the affidavit, use Insular Foundation’s Affidavit template (link given below). Other formats will not be accepted.

Gold Eagle College Scholarship Application and Admission Timeline

The Deadline date to apply for Gold Eagle College Scholarship program is June 30, 2025.

Announcement of Newly Admitted Scholars and Scholar Onboarding will take place in September 2025.
