The DCWD College Scholarship programs are now open to apply for all eligible college students. The Davao City Water District – DCWD is calling in applications from interested candidates for the DCWD College Scholarship programs for the school year 2024-2025.

DCWD College Scholarship Programs

Recently , DCWD – The Davao City Water District has made an announcement on Facebook regarding the opening of its college scholarship programs for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and eligible college students aspiring to obtain a college degree from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP).

There are two scholarship programs offered by DCWD and they are as follows:

  • DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and
  • DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship

DCWD College Scholarship Benefits

Following is the list of benefits a DCWD scholar is entitled to:

  • Transportation allowance
  • Meals allowance
  • Boarding house allowance
  • Uniform/textbook allowance
  • Incentive for scholars who will qualify as Dean’s Listers
  • Thesis allowance (graduating year)
  • Cash Incentive upon graduation

DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs)

Qualifications

Following are the qualifications required to apply for DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs):

  1. The applicant must be 15 to 25 years old incoming freshmen or continuing student.
  2. He or She must be a senior high school graduate with an average grade of at least 80%
    • If currently enrolled in college, then average grade for the previous semester prior to the application must be at least 80%.
  3. Must be a member of the IPs or Indigenous Cultural Communities and Muslims residing in the watershed areas Toril, Tugbok, Baguio, Calinan, and Marilog districts.

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs):

  • USEP result or a letter from the University that signifies that the applicant has been considered for the degree course applied for
  • A Certificate signed by the tribal chieftain
  • A Certificate from the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) or National Commission on Muslim Filipino (NCMF) (whichever is applicable) certifying membership to an IP/tribal group and that the tribal chieftain is registered with NCIP/NCMF
  • Readiness Test for Colleges and Universities (RCTU) and with a “High” description in the Quality Index if enrolled in the Engineering Program of the University
  • Must have an Annual household income not exceeding P120,000.00
  • Barangay clearance

DCWD has opened 6 slots for the DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) for the year 2024-2025.

DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship

Qualifications

Following are the qualifications required to apply for DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship:

  1. The applicant must be 15 to 21 years old incoming freshmen
  2. He or She must be a senior high school graduate from a school based in Davao City of the previous school year upon application 
  3. Must have an average grade of at least 85% 
  4. He or She must be part of the top 20% of the graduating class 

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship:

  1. USEP result or a letter from the University that signifies that the applicant has been considered for the degree course applied for
  2. Must have an Annual household income not exceeding P120,000.00
  3. Readiness Test for Colleges and Universities (RTCU) and with a “High” description in the Quality Index

Scholarship Application Timeline

The DCWD Scholarship is ongoing and is open to apply now.

The deadline date to apply for DCWD College Scholarship application is on or before March 31, 2024.

How to Apply for the DCWD’s College Scholarship

All interested and eligible applicants may proceed to visit the Community Relations Division Office located at the 6th floor of the DCWD Matina Office to fill out the application form.

Make sure to comply with all the qualifying requirements of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) before filling out the application form.
