About Davao City Water District – DCWD

The Davao City Water District (DCWD) is a government group that supplies clean water to Davao City. It started in 1973 and was one of the first water providers in the country. Today, it gives water to many parts of the city and is working to reach even more people.

To help and support the education of college students in the Philippines, every year DCWD provides scholarships to college students.

DCWD College Scholarship Program

Reently, the Davao City Water District announced the openings of its college scholarship programs for school year 2026-2027 via a Facebook post of January 28, 2026.

Under this program, scholarships will be awarded to eligible students who are aspiring to obtain a college degree from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Obrero and Mintal Campus.

Benefits of DCWD College Scholarship

Following is the list of benefits a DCWD scholar is entitled to receive under this scholarship program:

  • Transportation allowance
  • Meals allowance
  • Boarding house allowance
  • Uniform/textbook allowance
  • Incentive for scholars who will qualify as Dean’s Listers
  • Thesis allowance (graduating year)
  • Cash Incentive upon graduation

Types of Scholarships

There are two scholarship programs offered by the DCWD and they are as follows:

  • DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and
  • DCWD Scholarship for Non-IP

DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs)

Who Can Apply

The qualifications required to apply for DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) are as follows:

  • A senior high school graduate with an average grade of at least 80%
  • Continuing student currently enrolled in college with an average grade of at least 80% from the previous semester prior to application
  • A member of an Indigenous Cultural Community or a Muslim residing in the watershed areas of Toril, Tugbok, Baguio, Calinan, or Marilog districts

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for DCWD College Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) is as follows:

  1. Notice of Admission to the Program (NOAP) from USeP
  2. Report Card for Senior High School graduate or Report of Grades from the previous semester for continuing college student
  3. Tribal Certification
  4. Barangay Clearance
  5. Barangay Endorsement
  6. Certificate of Confirmation (COC) from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) or National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) certifying membership to an IP/tribal group and that the tribal chieftain is registered with NCIP/NCMF
  7. Certified true copy of annual household Income Tax Return (ITR) (not exceeding PhP120,000.00)
  8. Photocopy of Birth Certificate (PSA Copy)
  9. One recent 2×2 photo (preferably in IP costume)

DCWD Scholarship for Non-IP

Who Can Apply

The qualifications required to apply for DCWD Scholarship for Non-IP are as follows:

  • A senior high school graduate from a school based in Davao City of the previous school year upon application;
  • With an average grade of at least 85%
  • Part of the top 20% of the graduating class
  • Must be a resident of Davao City
  • Be a student of University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) – Mintal Campus and Obrero Campus Only

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for DCWD Scholarship for Non-IP are as follows:

  1. Notice of Admission to the Program (NOAP) from USEP
  2. Senior High School Report Card
  3. Certification that the applicant belongs to the top 20% of the graduating class signed by the school head
  4. Certified true copy of annual household Income Tax Return (ITR) (not exceeding PhP120,000.00)
  5. Photocopy of Birth Certificate (PSA Copy)
  6. One recent 2×2 photo
  7. Barangay Clearance
  8. Barangay Endorsement

How to Apply for the DCWD College Scholarship

All Interested applicants must first meet the qualifying requirements of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP).

Once they receive the Notice of Admission to the Program (NOAP) from USEP, they may proceed to the DCWD Community Relations Division Office located at the 6th floor of the DCWD Matina Office to fill out the scholarship application form.
