The CDO City Scholarship Program 2026 is officially open for applications! The City Government of Cagayan de Oro (CDO), through the City Education and Development Department (CEDD), is inviting eligible students to apply for the School Year 2026–2027.

What is the CDO City Scholarship?

The CDO City Scholarships Office recently announced the opening of its 2026 scholarship program via an official Facebook post. According to the post:

“Be a part of the growing number of Iskolar sa Dakbayan (ISDA) who are now closer to making their dreams come true. Apply Now!”

This program is specifically designed for residents of Cagayan de Oro who are pursuing college degrees or diploma courses.

Types of Scholarships Offered

There are two (2) types of scholarships under this program:

Academic Scholarship

Accepted applicants may enroll in any partner school and any course, including board and medical-related courses such as Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, and others. Final eligibility will depend on the applicant’s ranking.

Non-academic Scholarship

Accepted applicants may enroll only in non-board and non-medical-related courses in schools approved by the City Scholarships Committee.

Note: Your placement into these categories depends on your score in the qualifying examination.

What are the qualifications?

To qualify for the CDO City Scholarship 2026, you must meet these criteria:

  • Permanent resident of Cagayan de Oro City
  • Incoming 1st-year college student (must not have previous college units)
  • Annual family gross income must not exceed Php 300,000.
  • No other sibling or family member should be a current city scholar.

What are the Priority Courses

Following are the priority courses which a candidate can pursue to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Agriculture (Agribusiness, Biosystems Engineering, Crop Science)
  • Business and Tourism
  • Education (Major in TLE, Filipino, and Special Education)
  • Engineering
  • Information and Communication Technologies (Data Science, Computer Science, and IT)
  • Medical-related Courses (Nursing; subject for evaluation of the Scholarships Committee)

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for CDO City Scholarship is as follows:

  1. Grade 12 First Semester Grades
  2. Senior High School Certificate of Completion (for ALS graduates)
  3. PSA Birth Certificate
  4. Certificate of Residency indicating exact address and length of residence in CDO
  5. Residence map with landmark
  6. Photo of residence for validation
  7. COMELEC Registration or Voter’s Certificate of applicant or parents
  8. Parents’ Proof of Income (choose whichever applies):

For indigent parents:

  • Barangay Certification indicating source of income and total family income
  • OR BIR Certificate of Tax Exemption (for unemployed parents)

For employed or self-employed parents:

  • BIR Income Tax Return (ITR)

Optional / If applicable:

  • Summary of Senior High School awards and leadership (signed by School Principal)
  • PWD ID
  • 4Ps ID
  • Solo Parent ID
  • Certification of Indigenous People (IP) Membership
