CDO City Scholarship 2025 program is now open to apply for all eligible college students. The City Government of Cagayan de Oro – CDO is calling in applications from all interested candidates to apply for the City Scholarship program for the school year 2025-2026.

CDO City Scholarship

The CDO City Scholarships Office has recently announced the opening of its 2025 Scholarship program for all college students via a Facebook post. The post said “Be a part of the growing number of Iskolar sa Dakbayan (ISDA) who are now closer to making their dreams come true. Apply Now!“

The CDO City Scholarship 2025 program is open to apply for all college and diploma courses.

There are two types of scholarships offered to students under this program and they are as follows:

  • Academic Scholarship
  • Non-academic Scholarship

Academic Scholarship

Applicants who are accepted for the scholarship may choose any partner school of choice, and any course including board- and medical-related courses (e.g., Nursing, Med Tech, Pharmacy etc.) depending on the actual ranking of the applicant.

Non-academic Scholarship

Applicants who are accepted for the scholarship may only choose any non-board and non-medical-related course in a school approved by the City Scholarships Committee

Benefits of CDO City Scholarship

Following is the list of benefits which a CDO City Scholar will receive:

  • Full Tuition, Matriculation, and Other Fees
  • Monthly Stipend
  • Holistic Formation

Qualifications to apply for Scholarship

To apply for CDO City Scholarship, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a Filipino citizen;
  • He or She must a permanent resident of Cagayan de Oro City;
  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree on a full-time basis;
  • Must be a graduate of Senior High School;
  • The applicant must be incoming first year college student by start of SY 2025-2026;
  • Must NOT have been enrolled in College;
  • Must not have an exceeded gross total family income to PHP 300,000 annually;
  • The applicant must not have a sibling or family member that is currently a city scholar.

Priority Courses

Following are the priority courses which a candidate can pursue to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Agriculture (Agribusiness, Biosystems Engineering, Crop Science)
  • Business and Tourism
  • Education (Major in TLE, Filipino, and Special Education)
  • Engineering
  • Information and Communication Technologies (Data Science, Computer Science, and IT)
  • Medical-related Courses (Nursing; subject for evaluation of the Scholarships Committee)

Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for CDO City Scholarship is as follows:

  1. Scanned copy of Grades (Grade 12 first semester)
    • For ALS graduates, Senior High Certificate of Completion
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Certificate of Residency of applicant or parents indicating specific address in Cagayan de Oro with length of residence
  4. Residence map with landmark of home address for validation purposes
  5. Photo of residence for validation purposes
  6. COMELEC Registration of the applicant or their parents
  7. Parent’s Proof of Income (choose whichever is applicable):
    • If indigent parents:
      • Barangay Certification indicating source of income of both parents and total family income;
      • (or) BIR Certificate of Tax Exemption for unemployed parents
    • If employed or self-employed parents,
      • BIR Income Tax Return

If applicable / optional

  • Summary of Senior High School Awards and Leadership signed by the School Principal
  • PWD ID of the applicant
  • 4Ps ID of parents / applicant
  • Solo Parent ID
  • Certification of Indigenous People Membership

Application Timeline

  • The opening date of Online Application form for CDO City Scholarship is February 3, 2025.
  • Deadline date of online application is on March 3, 2025.
  • The opening date for Submission of Requirements Online in PDF File will start from February 17, 2025.
  • Instructions on how to submit requirements online will open on February 17, 2025.
  • The deadline of submission of requirements online is on March 17, 2025.

Exam Timeline

  • The schedule for Qualifying exam (Face-To-Face) for City Proper-residing Applicants: April 21-25.
  • Qualifying exam for Upland-residing Applicants: April 26.

Announcement of Results and Placement
