Government announces ₱15,000 Grant to College Students
College Students in the Philippines may get ₱15,000 as government grant. As per recent reports, around ₱2.06 billion is set aside in the 2025 General Appropriations Act for the Government’s Tulong Dunong Scholarship program. This program is set to benefit the education of around 137,000 qualified college students nationwide in the Philippines.
Quezon City Rep. Marvin Rillo, vice chairperson of the House of Representatives’ higher and technical education committee, announced that each program beneficiary would receive P15,000 in cash assistance this year.
Rillo, member of the House appropriations panel, said on Sunday in a statement that : “In the 2025 General Appropriations Law, Congress earmarked the sum of P2.06 billion for the TDP, which provides grantees with cash aid of P7,500 per semester, or P15,000 per academic year.”
Mr. Rillo also pointed out that “We are absolutely determined to keep up the annual funding for the TDP, which has helped to lessen the financial difficulties of students pursuing their college education”.

TDP is a government program initiated by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is one of the programs under government’s tertiary education subsidy programs. The TDP program aims to “support support at least the partial cost of college schooling, inclusive of education-related expenses of the grantee”.
How to Apply for TDP Program
New grantees and continuing grantees must be enrolled in any undergraduate program in a CHED-accredited public or private college or university to apply and avail benefits of TDP program.
