To avoid crowding, The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo announced that they will no longer accept walk-in applications in the distribution of financial aid for indigent students, as happened over the weekend during the first day of payout.

He said that candidates will be notified through text message when and where their payoff will be made, most likely in their localities.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, the DSWD and the Department of the Interior and Local Government signed a memorandum of understanding for the implementation and distribution of the agency’s educational assistance.

This attempts to make educational aid payouts more organized with the assistance of the local government unit.

Indigent elementary kids will receive P1,000, P2,000 for high school, P3,000 for senior high school, and P4,000 for college or vocational students under the mentioned program.

Meanwhile, Tulfo stated that Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recipients who received educational assistance on Saturday should make a refund because they are no longer qualified for the program.

If they refuse to refund the money, the DSWD would remove it from their monthly 4Ps cash aid.

According to Tulfo, 53,000 students have received P154 million so far under the program. He said they expect that between 375,000 and 400,000 indigent students will receive financial aid overall.
