TES – Tertiary Education Subsidy 2024 program is now open to apply for all eligible college students in the Philippines. Recently, UniFAST has announced the opening of applications for the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for the school year 2024-2025 on Facebook.
TES – Tertiary Education Subsidy
UniFAST is an agency affiliated to CHED. The TES-Tertiary Education Subsidy is a grant-in-aid program that supports the full or partial cost of tertiary education of priority students enrolled in state universities and colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized local universities and colleges (LUCs), and private higher education institutions (HEIs), and in programs included in the CHED Registry.
TES is not a Scholarship based on merit but on a prioritization system set by the UniFAST Board according to RA 10931. If you are looking for a merit scholarship, checkout CHED Scholarship program.
Benefits of Tertiary Education Subsidy
Following is the list of benefits a scholar will receive under TES-Tertiary Education Subsidy:
- ₱27,000 per AY or ₱13,500 per semester for grantees enrolled in Private HEIs
- ₱20,000 per AY or ₱10,000 per semester for grantees enrolled in SUCs and LUCs
You can use TES grant to cover Tuition, School fees, Other education-related expenses
Additional Benefits:
- ₱10,000 per AY or ₱5,000 per semester for PWD TES grantees
- ₱8,000 one-time reimbursement for Board/Licensure Examination
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for Tertiary Education Subsidy, one must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be a Filipino citizen
- Must have no previous undergraduate degree
- Enrolled in SUCs, CHED-recognized LUCs and Private HEIs and in programs included in the CHED Registry
- Not overstaying in the program (e.g., 4 or 5 years + 1-year grace period)
Who is ineligible for TES
Following is the list of candidates who are ineligible to apply for TES:
- Foreign student
- Non-student
- Student enrolled in HEIs or programs NOT included in the CHED Registry of Programs and Institutions
- Students in second undergraduate post-secondary program
- Student beneficiary of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs), or other national government-funded StuFAPs, except those recipients of any one-time grant or subsidy such as but not limited to DSWD’S Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program
- Student who submitted falsified documents
Slots and TES Prioritization
UniFAST Board Resolution No. 2024-019 dated July 18, 2024, has approved the prioritization scheme for new Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) applicants for Academic Year 2024-2025 onwards, in the following order:
- Students under the most updated Listahanan for all SUCs, LUCs, and Private HEIs, including other Private HEIs with no SUC/LUC or PNSL;
- Students included in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), ranked according to household per capita income for all SUCs, LUCs, Private HEIs, including PNSLs; and
- The remaining slots are to be allocated to other poor students in PNSL, not included in the 1st and 2nd prioritization categories.
Tertiary Education Subsidy Application Schedule
All participating HEls/schools in each region were assigned a specific schedule to submit their students’ applications through the TES Online Portal of UniFAST.

- 1- Ilocos Region and II- Cagayan Valley : Nov 26-28, 2024
- III- Central Luzon and MIMAROPA : Nov 29 and Dec 2-3, 2024
- CALABARZON : Dec 4-6, 2024
- V – Bicol Region and Caraga : Dec 9-11, 2024
- VI – Western Visayas and VIII- Eastern Visayas : Dec 12-13 and 16, 2024
- VII – Central Visayas and NCR : Dec 17-19, 2024
- X – Northern Mindanao and XI- Davao Region : Dec 20,23 and 26, 2024
- IX – Zamboanga Peninsula and BARMM A : Dec 27, 2024 and Jan 2-3, 2025
- XII – Soccsksargen and BARMM B : Jan 6-8, 2025
- Cordillera Administrative Region : Jan 9-10 and 13, 2025

How to apply for Tertiary Education Subsidy
All interested students may coordinate with the designated TES Focal Person of their respective HEI to ensure inclusion in the list of applicants for submission in the portal.
Guidelines and Reminders
- Walk-in or direct submissions at CHED and UniFAST offices are not accepted because only HEIs/schools with a valid Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with CHED-UnIFAST are granted the authority to manage and submit their students’ applications through the TES Portal. Therefore, qualified students can only apply through their respective schools.
- After the nationwide assessment, only ranked applicants will be required to submit the necessary documents for CHED-UniFAST’s validation and verification process.
- Submission of applications doesn’t guarantee TES approval, as all undergo assessment, ranking, validation of documents, and availability of funds.
