OWWA Scholarship 2026-2027 is OPEN to Apply
The OWWA Scholarship 2026-2027 is now open to apply for all eligible college students in the Philippines. Recently, OWWA – the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration has announced the opening of online application for EDSP and CMWSP scholarship programs for the school year 2026-2027.

OWWA Scholarship
The OWWA Scholarship is a financial grant provided by the Overseas Workers Filipino Administration (OWWA) to eligible and deserving students to help them pursue their education without worrying about the tuition fees and costs related to their education.
The Overseas Workers Filipino Administration (OWWA) is calling in applications from all interested and eligible college students to apply for these programs and avail its benefits.
Here is the list of scholarships provided by OWWA:
- Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
- Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
- OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)
Education for Development Scholarship Program – EDSP
The Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) provides financial assistance to qualified dependents of active OWWA members who intend to pursue a 4 to 5-year baccalaureate course in any preferred colleges or universities in the Philippines.
The DOST national examinations determine the selection of scholars for incoming freshmen.
OWWA EDSP Scholarship Benefits
An OWWA Scholar who is selected for the EDSP program, will receive a financial assistance of Php60,000.00 per school year until the completion of their four to five year baccalaureate course.
Qualifications to apply for scholarship
Following is the list of qualifications a candidate must meet to apply for EDSP scholarship:
- The applicant must be a child or sibling of a single or married, but childless, of an Active OWWA member
- Candidate must be single
- He or She must not be more than 21 years old upon application
- Must be Grade 12 graduating student
- Must have a GWA of at least 80% or its equivalent
- Candidate must have no failing grades
- Must be willing to enroll in Philippine-based colleges/universities

Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
The Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) is one of OWWA programs that provides scholarships grants to deserving migrant workers and/or their immediate descendants of OWWA members who intend to pursue courses in the priority fields in Science and Technology.
The national qualifying examination for CMWSP Scholarship is administered by Department of Science and Technology Science and Education Institute (DOST-SEI). This exam determines the eligibility of new incoming college freshmen scholars.
OWWA CMWSP Scholarship Benefits
An OWWA Scholar who is selected for the OWWA CMWSP – Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program, will receive a maximum of ₱60,000.00 per school year until the completion of 4-5 years baccalaureate course in any college/universities within the Philippines.
Qualifications to apply for scholarship
Following is the list of qualifications a candidate must meet to apply for CMWSP scholarship:
- The applicant can be OFW him/herself
- The child of OFW or sibling of a single or married but childless OFW who is not more than 21 years old upon application
- Must have an annual family income not more than USD 2,400.00 or its equivalent
- Must have a GWA of at least 80% or its equivalent
- He or She must have no failing grades
- Must be willing to enroll in Science and Technology Courses
- Must be willing to enroll in Philippine-based colleges/universities

OWWA ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program
The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program, popularly known as the OWWA ODSP Scholarship is a scholarship grant given to the qualified dependents or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.
OWWA member OFWs who receive a monthly salary of US $1000.00 or below, regardless or job category, who shall enroll, is currently enrolled or has been enrolled in any four or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course in any college or university can apply for this scholarships program.
OWWA ODSP Scholarship Benefits
An OWWA Scholar who is selected for the OWWA ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program, will receive a financial assistance of Php10,000.00 per semester or Php20,000.00 per school year to cover their tuition fees and other academic-related expenses.
Qualifications to apply for scholarship
Following is the list of qualifications a candidate must meet to apply for ODSP scholarship:
- The applicant must be Single
- Must be a child or sibling of an OFW active member
- Must have passing GWA
- The applicant must not be more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
- Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college / university
- Must have a GWA of 80% without failing grades or within 20% of graduating class for children of OFW
- Qualified dependents of OFWs must have a monthly OFW income not more than USD $1000.00 or its equivalent
ODSP Application Status : NOT OPEN
The ODSP Scholarship program is not open to apply.

Documentary Requirements
Following is the general list of documents required to apply for OWWA scholarship:
- Proof of Identity
- OFW – Valid Passport Copy of OFW Passport Bio or Information Page
- Dependent – School I.D. or any available valid I.D.
- ANY of the following: Birth Certificate or Baptismal
- Proof of Grades
- Previous school year Form 137, Form 138, Form 10 or Transcript of Records (TOR)
- 2×2 ID picture (white background, may name tag at signature)
NOTE: Scores from SY 2024-2025 or SY 2023-2024 may be accepted as preliminary requirements for initial submission. Final requirements are expected to be submitted upon receipt of confirmation from the OWWA RWO where the application was submitted.
