What is Mercury Drug Foundation Inc.
Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc is commonly known as MDFI. The MDFI is a private, non-stock, non-profit organization that was founded in 1983. The Foundation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as Mercury Group Foundation, Inc. In 1990, the company name was changed to Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc.
MDFI has a vision to build the country’s exceptional group of professionals by providing scholarship grants to financially challenged and deserving students.
Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship 2024
The MDFI Scholarship program 2024 awards full scholarships to the following:
- Gawad Talino awardees recognized for their academic excellence in Mathematics or Science,
- Deserving but financially challenged incoming first year college students.
This scholarship programs is not limited to scholarship grant but also includes academic recognition to students excelling in science and mathematics, and financial assistance to other endeavors that will inspire, nurture, and promote excellence in education and foster national development.
MDFI hopes to inspire and encourage students by fostering their education to maximize their potential and aspire to become leaders in the next generation for the country.

Benefits of Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship
The MDFI Scholars will be offered FULL Scholarships will shall cover the following benefits:
- Tuition fees,
- Monthly stipends to assist with living expenses
- Transportation costs,
- Miscellaneous fees and
- Job offers from Mercury Drug Corporation upon graduation
Qualifications for the Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship, one must fulfil the following qualifications:
- Applicants must be Incoming freshman first year college students
- Recipient of MDFI’s Gawad Talino Excellence in Mathematics or Science Award
- Single, not more than 21 years old
- Of good health and good moral character
- Not on any other scholarship or education assistance
- Enrolled in a state university or government-funded school
- Not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies or its subsidiaries
- Able to maintain a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.75 (90%) and above
Final screening for this scholarship program will be conducted by MDFI.
