GSIS Scholarship 2026 | Requirements & How to Apply
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has announced the launch of a new scholarship program for incoming college freshmen taking up science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses for Academic Year 2026–2027.
The scholarship program, officially called the GSIS Subsidy for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program (GSSP), aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students and help strengthen the country’s STEM workforce.

GSIS Scholarship Program 2026
Under the GSSP, 1,000 incoming college freshmen will be selected each year to receive an annual subsidy of P15,000 to help cover education-related expenses. The program will run for four academic years, from AY 2026 to 2030, supporting a total of 4,000 scholars.
GSIS said the program supports the government’s goal of improving economic competitiveness through innovation and education, particularly in STEM-related fields.

What are the qualifications?
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be an incoming first-year college student for AY 2026–2027
- Enrolled in a STEM course at a CHED-recognized college or university in the Philippines
- Child of an active GSIS member or permanent total disability pensioner below 60 years old
- Must have a senior high school general weighted average (GWA) of at least 90%
- Priority will be given to applicants whose parents:
- Belong to Salary Grade 15 and below, or
- Receive lower pension amounts
- To promote inclusivity, 200 out of the 1,000 slots will be reserved for children of:
- Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
- Indigenous Peoples (IPs)
- Solo Parents

Qualified scholars will receive the following benefits:
- P15,000 annual education subsidy for up to four academic years

GSIS announced that applications for the GSSP will open soon.

Application Period
