The Mercury Drug Foundation Inc. – MDFI, has recently announced the opening of its Mercury Drug Pharmacy Scholarship for the academic year 2024-2025. The goal of MDFI Scholarships is to help deserving but financially challenged pharmacy students complete their tertiary education, so that they can fulfil the shortage of pharmacists in the Philippines.

This scholarship is open to all studying who are pursuing education in the field of Pharmacy for the academic year 2024-2025.

What is Mercury Drug Foundation Inc.

Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc is commonly known as MDFI. The MDFI is a private, non-stock, non-profit organization that was founded in 1983. The Foundation was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as Mercury Group Foundation, Inc. In 1990, the company name was changed to Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc.

MDFI has a vision to build the country’s exceptional group of professionals by providing scholarship grants to financially challenged and deserving students.

Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship 2024

The MDFI Scholarship program 2024 awards full scholarships to the following:

• Deserving but financially challenged students of pharmacy. Students of other selected courses and dependents of soldiers who are in active service, incapacitated or have died in the line of duty, may be considered.

This scholarship programs is not limited to scholarship grant but also includes academic recognition to students excelling in science and mathematics, and financial assistance to other endeavors that will inspire, nurture, and promote excellence in education and foster national development.

MDFI hopes to inspire and encourage students by fostering their tertiary education to maximize their potential and aspire to become leaders in the next generation for the country.

Benefits of Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship

The MDFI Scholars shall receive the following benefits:

• Tuition fees,
• Monthly stipends to assist with living expenses
• Transportation costs,
• Miscellaneous fees and
• Job offers from Mercury Drug Corporation upon graduation

Qualifications for the Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship, one must fulfil the following qualifications:

For Deserving but Financially Challenged Pharmacy Students

• On their last two years of study, enrolled in a partner pharmacy school of MDFI
• Must have a General weighted average (GWA) of 2.5 (80%) and above.
• He or She must be Single, not more than 23 years old
• Shall be of good health and good moral character
• Not on any other scholarship or education assistance
• Must not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies or its subsidiaries

Applications must be coursed through the school deans or department heads of MDFI’s partner colleges of pharmacy who conduct the initial screenings and make the endorsements to MDFI.

How to apply for Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship?

All interested and eligible students who are looking to apply for the Mercury Drug Foundation Scholarship are advised to get in touch with the respective Pharmacy School Dean or Head of the Department to apply for the scholarship
